Twelve layers of natural muslin cotton, four more than our bestselling blanket. Each layer holds a band of air that warms next to you, which is how it reaches doona-level warmth at a fraction of the bulk.
The weave stays open, so heat can still leave when you've had enough, so warm sleepers stay comfortable next to cold ones. Oversized like the 8-layer: 279cm at the widest, plenty for two. It arrives soft and relaxes further with every wash.

Gentle cool machine wash with a mild detergent, no bleach or fabric softener, tumble low or line dry in the shade. It's a bigger wash load than the 8-layer, so check it fits your machine drum on Queen and King sizes.

Should I get the 8-layer or the 12-layer?
If you run warm, sleep in Queensland or on the coast, or you're replacing a doona you found stuffy, take the 8-layer. It's the bestseller for a reason. The Extra Warm is for cold houses, southern winters, and the person who was still cold under the 8 layers everyone else loved.
Is it as warm as a doona?
It's built for winter: twelve layers of trapped air rather than one thick fill. The difference is that muslin's open weave keeps releasing excess heat, so you get the warmth without the 2am kick-it-off moment a doona gives you.
Why only two colours?
We make the Extra Warm in Snow White and Rust, our two most-loved shades. If your bedroom needs Sage Green, Blush, Light Grey, Beige or Blue, the 8-layer blanket comes in all seven.
Which size should I order?
The Extra Warm comes in two sizes: Single/Double (243 × 180 cm) and Queen (279 × 243 cm). The Queen is generous: at 279cm wide it suits most King beds too, and our reviewers consistently advise sizing down rather than up.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash cool on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, no bleach or fabric softener, then tumble low or line dry in the shade. Twelve layers is a bigger load than the 8-layer, so check the Queen and King fit your machine drum.
What if it isn't right?
